The Gallup Main Street Holiday Ornament Features the El Morro Theater
The 2019 Gallup Main Street Holiday ornament is a 4″x3″ rendering of the facade of the El Morro Theatre. It’s a natural choice for this year’s ornament. Built in 1928, the El Morro is the only example of Spanish Colonial Revival architecture in Gallup. Carl Boller of Boller Brothers architectural firm designed the El Morro. The National Register of Historic Places added the theater in 1988.
If you’ve been to the shop, you probably know that the theater is right down the street from us on Coal Avenue. It has been lovingly restored and serves as a center for entertainment, cultural, and conference events in our community. They also have a fantastic concession stand, and they only charge $5 admission!
