Hip Spindles

The hip spindle serves as the go-to spinning tool for both Navajo and Pueblo weavers.  Descended from the spindles used by the Ancestral Puebloan people, hip spindles come in a variety of sizes, woods, and weights.  We carry hip spindles made by Navajo craftspeople and we use them in our textile conservation practice.
