Learn Navajo sash belt weaving over the course of three weeks with master weaver Gilbert Begay.  Class starts on Monday, June 11th and meets all day every Monday for three weeks, ending on Monday, June 25th.  The class will meet from 9 AM to 5:30 PM.  You are welcome to work on your weaving at the store in between classes. Instructor Gilbert Begay will take you through the process of re-spinning your yarn, warping and weaving.  You can expect to finish more than once piece during the class.

The Beginner Plus-Intermediate Navajo Techniques class will help you to take your weaving skills beyond the beginner level and will help you to explore the creative world of patterns, colors and textures.  You'll see how to approach the design process as you develop your own distinctive style of weaving.  Each of the four bi-weekly classes will provide you with time in the classroom with your instructor as well as a 30 minute discussion of wool types, top weavers work, weaving history and, for our Navajo students, an introduction to marketing your work.  $100

Learn beginning Navajo weaving and warping techniques with Diné instructors Jennie Slick and Gloria Begay.   You'll learn plain and stripe weaving and joining techniques.  Gloria and Jennie will show you how they design on the loom and they will help you solve problems as they arise.   The five week class should allow you enough to time to finish your first weaving and warp a second.  We are available to assist you with questions during business hours.

Learn the basics Navajo weaving techniques at our Gallup store!  Class starts on Wednesday, July 25th and lasts for four intense days, ending on Saturday, July 28th.  Our class will meet from 9 AM to 7 PM and we will have visits with Gallup traders like Bill Malone and Perry Null. We will also welcome area weavers who are invited to stop by.
