Description

Each Corriedale Fibre Pack contains premium 100% Pure New Zealand wool.  The micron count is 27-30, and you get 21 colors in each pack.  Choose from Lights, Darks, or Brights.   

Corriedale wool is easy to spin or felt with a defined, even crimp. You can spin a fine to medium woolen, worsted or semi-worsted yarn. Corriedale bulks after washing and has good elasticity. It is ideal for baby wear, woven, knitted, crocheted, or felted garments.

Ashford Corriedale Fiber Pack Wool Preparation

Ashford wool sliver is 100% pure New Zealand wool. Their wool comes from sheep farms in the South Island of New Zealand, where the sheep graze on large grassy paddocks and are free from mulesing (removal of some wool-bearing skin for flystrike prevention). They only use wool with a good length that is free from breaks, has high bulk, brightness, low vegetable matter, and is the correct micron. An eco-friendly biodegradable detergent cleans the wool using standard aqueous treatment. Then in Ashford’s woolen mill in Milton, their staff ensures that every process is to the highest standard. They start by dyeing the wool using ecologically-safe Oeko-Tex compliant dyes (www.oekotex.com has detailed information), then steam dry, card, gill, comb and finally wind into bumps. The sliver is then ready to use with no waste or preparation.

We will be offering Ashland Corriedale in 100-gram (3.8 ounces) bags and 500-gram (1.1 pound) bags soon, so you can contact us if you are interested in these larger quantities of any color.
