Hand-Knitted Sheep Hat (Beanie) Single Brim by Mary Walker

Description

Made by our own Mary Walker, this hand-knitted sheep hat or single-brim beanie is the perfect gift for the sheep lover in your life. It’s sized for teens to adults with a 20″-21″ head and knitted from Madelinetosh Vintage superwash worsted weight yarn. You can machine wash and dry the hat, but we recommend a nice hand wash and air drying. 

Mary used a stranded knitting technique called ladderback Jacquard. It leaves no long floats that can get caught in use.   Another benefit is that it puts two layers of wool on the hat to help keep you warm.

The yarn between the color changes, called the floats, is all caught in the second layer. This means that the surface is smooth.  Puckering is minimal.  The brim is a generous 2″ long. This is a single-brim hat.
