Gloria Begay’s Small Wide Ruins rug has it all! Gloria’s design skills are second to no one. Woven with hand-carded and handspun local Navajo-Churro wool in natural colors this piece shows Gloria’s talent beautifully. Wide Ruins designs are renowned for their complexity. Gloria delivers that in this piece.
The top and bottom bands feature Spiderwoman crosses with squash blossom motifs composing the center band. The weave is a tight 10 warps and 56 wefts per inch. Like all of Gloria’s weaving, this small piece has a triple side cord for beauty and durability.
Gloria has consigned this piece to Weaving in Beauty and she will receive 85% of the sales price.
This rug will be shipped free to locations in the United States.
Weaving in Beauty specializes in contemporary rugs that we purchase directly from the weaver. We generally pay the price asked by the weaver or we come as close to that price as possible.
Recently, we have started accepting consignments of fine quality rugs directly from the weavers because there are few auctions taking place at this time.
We try to support living weavers and do not buy or sell vintage rugs. All of our rugs are from weavers that we know personally.
