Raffia Sun Hat by Mary Walker Size 6 3/4 (Small)

Description

Mary Walker crocheted this Raffia Sun Hat using the Sun Hat Bambino pattern by Natalia Maksiuta.  Natalia lives and works in Ukraine.   She creates some of the best patterns for raffia work that Mary’s found.

We are using this hat for a shop model, but people started asking how much we’d sell it for.  When people want to give us money, we take that seriously. 

Raffia Sun Hat Details

Mary used Ra-Ra Raffia from Wool and the Gang in Ice Blue for the hat. It’s trimmed in Midnight Blue and has a detachable crocheted Midnight Blue hatband.  It sports a Blue Bird Flour design hatpin, so people will know it came from the Four Corners! 

Millinery wire and fabric stiffener stabilize the hat.  It measures 13 inches across and four inches high, creating some very welcome shade.  Ra-ra Raffia is:

• water-repellent
• vegan
• biodegradable 
• wipe it with a damp cloth to clean it. 

The hat has a 21 1/4″ or 54 cm inside circumference.  That’s about a 6 3/4 hat size, considered a small size.  To see if it would fit you, measure your head where you want a hat to sit.
