Shima’s Rainbow Fiber Mill Fund-Raising Kickstarter: Learn, Contribute, and Have a Bunch of Fun

A group of fiber producers, artists, and friends is working to establish a mini-mill in downtown Gallup, New Mexico. Shima’s Rainbow Fiber will process up to 30 pounds of Navajo-churro wool per day. Initially, yarns will be spun specifically for Navajo and Rio Grande weaving techniques.

The mill will be an employee-owned company — one that will eventually encompass Weaving in Beauty — creating local jobs, honoring the wool heritage of the Four Corners, reducing our carbon footprint, and hopefully carrying the work of Weaving in Beauty forward to a new generation.

We are working with the State of New Mexico, the USDA, and other grant and financing sources to bring this vision to life. Now we’re inviting you to be part of the journey.
