Navajo weavings are not referred to as tapestry until their weft count surpasses 80 wefts per inch. Michael Ornelas achieved that and went beyond to 112 wefts per inch in this piece. Micheal combined traditional belt motifs and Spiderwoman crosses with modernistic central elements that depict the speakers that Spiderwoman is using to call him to weave. He definitely rose to Spiderwoman’s call. The piece measures 10.5″x13″. It will be rolled for shipping.
