Lena Tahe’s signature Prayer Feather Chief Blanket Variant designs are popular with contemporary Navajo rug connoisseurs. There are a lot of good reasons. The design is instantly recognizable, but Lena never copies herself. Combine the design with Lena’s weaving proficiency, and the results are unbeatable.
Each of Lena’s Prayer Feather Chief Blanket Variant rugs has a unique composition, and each feather in them, like every prayer, has an individual design and purpose. The rug measures 44.5 x 27 inches and is one of the larger rugs of this style that she weaves.
Lena says we offer her the highest prices for her rugs, so she brings them directly here. We hope to keep that up! Lena brings her work in from her home in Hardrock, Arizona, over 100 miles from our store. She uses respun Brown Sheep wool for her rugs and meticulously shaves and grooms the finished rugs before they are sold.
Lena’s weaving style is tight and even, and her sides are beautiful. There are 22 unique feathers on the rug, and they form a perfect chevron. Others try to copy Lena’s style, but no one else even comes close!
Whenever we have one of Lena’s Prayer Feather rugs, we display it over the long sofa in our gallery. They tend to find homes quickly when someone decides that they will look great in their surroundings. Don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions regarding Lena’s rug. We love to talk about our collection.

At Weaving in Beauty, we focus mainly on contemporary rugs acquired directly from artists we know personally. We believe in fair compensation and typically honor the artists' asking prices or come as close as possible.
Our commitment is to support living artists, which is why we rarely deal in vintage pieces. Every rug in our collection comes from weavers with whom we have built personal relationships.
