The Official Gallup Socker League Sock Pattern

Introducing the Gallup Socker League Sock Pattern! Mary Walker says she has this sock pattern tattooed on her brain. She knits it with no instructions in front of her. The texture comes from an easy-to-remember four-stitch repeat pattern that is plain knitting 75% of the time. Mary uses the Fish Lips Kiss Heel.

The free pattern is for a medium-sized sock, but you can easily modify it for a smaller or larger size.  The pattern includes the instructions for knitting the sock top-down or toe-up.  Mary knits these two at a time on two circulars, but magic loop or double-point needles will work fine!

To knit the socks, you’ll need the following:

• about 400 yards of fingering-weight yarn
• a set of double-point needles, two 24″ circular needles for two at a time socks on two circulars, or one 40″ circular for magic loop, US size 1.5 or the size you need to achieve the gauge.
• four stitch markers to place at beginning of rounds, and for the Fish Lips Kiss Heel
